The Frank M. Doyle Arts Pavilion at Orange Coast College has opened an exhibition called “Empty Vessel–Amir Zaki” that runs through December 5 in its Main Gallery. Zaki’s photographic images, through his dedication to photographing built and natural landscapes, explore the sculptural nature of skateboard parks and ceramic vessels. Doyle Director and exhibition curator Tyler Stallings says, “Through both the intentional absence of skaters and the brokenness of the ceramics, together, all these “vessels” are pictured as sculptural rather than functional; hence, the title “Empty Vessel.”” Admission is free.
